1.Why is there a fascination with turn crime in America? In what ways does "In Cold Blood" provide insite into the nature with american crime and how we react to it?
I definitely believe that there is a fascination with true crime in america. If you think about it there are countless movies and Tv shows about all different crimes and people seem to love it. I feel the reason why we like it so much is because there is something in us all that that just fascinates us with other peoples business maybe because our own lives can get a bit boring at times. If you think about it, where we live in fort thomas its not everyday that you hear about a family that we all know getting shot. It just doesn't happen here, I think that I part of the reason why we get so fascinated with it, because its something different out of our everyday lives. If some family in Fort Thomas were to be murderd like the Clutter family the whole town would be involved and wanting to know every detail, it is just in our natue to want to know details about things that are not nessarly good, kind of like in a scary movie when we are scared to watch but for some reason we keep glancing up at the Tv because we want to know what horrific seen is going on. In the book "In Cold Blood" you can see that as soon as the Clutters were killed everyone knew about it and was devastated. I think the fact that that it was a small town with not much going on and also the fact that everyone knew the clutters and they had such a good reputation plays a huge part in why everyone was so fascinated with what happened.
