I think there is a fascination with true crime in the United States, and all over the world, because people are intrigued by tragic events. While people seem disgusted by the brutality of these cases, they can't help but wonder about the killer's motives. In Cold Blood demonstrates that well because it was written by Capote, a New York writter who was completely unattached to this random killing in Holcomb Kansas, who became obsessed with the details of the Clutter family murder and did a lot of research to write the book about it. Like Capote, many Americans feel the same desire to learn the details behind murders, rapes, and other crimes because it gives them a sense of satisfaction. That is why shows like Law and Order and CSI are so popular in the United States. Ultimately, citizens of the United States will always have a fascination with true crime case due to the mystery and thrill they present.
