What Perry is trying to say is that there is no way to fully stop destiny in its tracks, one can merely postpone it. I believe that Perry is right to some degree in his statement but I don't think that everything is set in stone, things are open to change and many situations rely on pure circumstances only. However, he is also right in that fact that, some things are inevitable, such as death, and that you can only hope that it won't happen. You can certainly prolong things like death but they will always come and rear their ugly head in the end.
