The term literary nonfiction means that the story that is being told, is true and while everything being written is true there maybe some parts of the story that are being embellished. I feel that in this story, this mostly happens when the author is describing dick and perry. Literary nonfiction may aslo mean that there is parts of the story included that may not be valuable to the actual crime. For example I feel that when the author described when Dick and Perry picked up the two hitch hikers, I don't think that portion of the story was essential to the book, or the actual crime case. This type of writing style makes the reader get intregued to a crime story. It is not just a crime report, it has the actual emotions in the story, that may have otherwise been left out.

I agree, if this was true crime reporting then the reader would not be able to see into the lives of dick and Perry. I also agree with how some parts are unnecessary and just drag the story on. For example, when Perry starts to cry when he heard Christmas music. It takes away from what is going on with the police finding them.
