Capote creates a sense of further realness then normal crime reporting. Instead of just stating the facts, Capote puts the reader in the situation and in the minds of the Dick and Perry. The term literary non-fiction itself means that the novel has its basis from fact the author, Capote, uses literary devices like imagery, comparative language, and more fiction-esque devices. He created what would be great fiction crime mystery but with the added effect of the non-fiction aspect Capote causes the reader to think of the facts in their own perspective of how they would deal with the same conflicts as every extremely different characters in the novel.
