Literay non-fiction is a type of writing in which an author writes a novel based of a true story. The author will dramatize some things to appeal to the audience more and to draw more emotions out of the reader. This type of writing allows for the reader to get the unbiased point of view of the murder. In reality the murder is usually reported from the victims pov but in this story, In Cold Blood, we get both the victims pov and the murderers pov. The author builds our emotions up making us feel for both sides. Capote writes like this because it creates a great story that creates lots of emotions that the reader can relate to. Continuing to characterize the people related to the Clutter family murder, Capote writes a literary nonfiction story that makes the reader feel and see all sides of the murder and gets them to think about other crimes this way also.

I agree to some degree with Noah here. I can see how writing this style can create an unbiased pov by getting both sides of the murder. But at the same time, I think criminal reports are still more unbiased due to the fact that they are objective reports. I think if Capote was not emotionally attached to Perry then it would decrease the bias and sympathy for the murderers. His attachment to him might lead to him overstating how much we should feel sympathetic for him. I think we associate criminal reports as bias toward the victims because most of the time it is the victim who deserves the sympathy, not the criminals.
