Literary non-fiction in my perspective is taking a real life event and adding emphasis on concrete sensory detail. Taking that event and creating a sort of twist on the event to intrigue the reader. This can be seen on the vivid details on the thoughts of the murderers "He thought he might vomit, or faint; he felt he would if Dick delayed 'the party' much longer". This is the thought of Perry , which Capote does not know. This builds suspense and hooks the reader waiting for something to happen. Capote did this to intrigue the reader, by taking an ordinary murder and turning it into his own story in a way. And by this it hooks the reader and makes them continue to read.

I completely agree with you. Truman Capote takes information that anyone can find and tell a story that has already been told and makes it into a book that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.
