Literary non-fiction is a type of reporting which differs from the norm because of the more emotional tone that it can take on. By showing the story from the point of view of people closely tied to the murder, it all seems more like a work of fiction than something real. This makes it much easier for the reader to become invested in the outcome. Capote chose to write his book in this way because it was more likely to draw in readers, and because he chose to humanize Dick and Perry, it makes it much easier for the audience to empathize with them. This makes the readers unsettled, because no one wants to feel sympathy for a murderer.

I agree that he ties in the emotional side to make the audience interested. I believe that if he was going to narrate how the family died inthe beginning then was going to have to put emotional input in it to create the suspense of the book.
