"Literary nonfiction" is a type of writing that both involves creativity and factual evidence. The author uses factual ideas but uses the creative side to make the story more interesting. However, this causes the creditably to become weakened due to the authors bias(creativity he adds to the story). This style of writing is used in the book "In Cold Blood" when Capote talks about specific characters and events. When he is unable to fill the gaps in the story, he adds his own facts to make the event more appealing. He uses this strategy when talking about Dick and Perry because of his bias towards them caused by emotional connections. Also the story is told in third person (omniscient) so that should make the reader automatically realize that adjustments and elaborations were made to strengthen the story. Personally I believe that Capote used this style of writing to engage the reader more so that they would not be bored with cold hard facts. this would then allow them to continue reading the book causing them to obtain the facts while understanding the end result of the case/story. It allows the reader to be hooked to both the factual parts of the book to help them fully realize the murder and its case.
