1) Do you think there is a difference between reading a true crime book and reading a violent fiction book? Do you feel different while reading one as compared to the other? I think that the only difference worth noting between a true crime book and a violent fiction book is the feelings that are incited by each one. When reading a violent fiction book, one is meant to be scared but there is a limit due to the fact that the facts are completely false and the reader is aware of it. However, when reading a true crime novel, the reader experiences the same emotional effects of a violent fiction novel but with no limits, due to the fact that every detail is true and is magnified in the reader due to the idea of "this could happen to me." The true crime novels have a much more profound effect on people's emotions than violent fiction novels. While I can't speak for everybody and their feelings while reading books like this, I would think that a true crime book is a much more effective horror or mystery story than a violent fiction
