I believe that there is a huge difference in reading a violent fiction book and a true crime book. In a violent fiction book the reader is reading the book for entertainment and fantasy as their minds believe that these scenarios are possible but have simply not happened, but with a true crime book the reader knows that this event had already taken place in history and could very well happen again. I believe that this pulls the reader further into the story as they become emotionally attached to the people in these events because it has really happened.
