Question:1. When are we not responsible for our own beliefs or behaviors?
Most of the time, society would agree that you should take responsibility for your actions/behavior, but there are some exceptions to that statement. Such as, when you grow up in a household that believes in different things than the rest of the community, that does not require one to take responsibility for that. If you have grown up with those beliefs then you don't know any different. For instance, in In Cold Blood the murderers had a very rough up-bringing which doesn't justify what they did, but the history behind the life of these men allows the audience to feel some sort of sympathy and understanding of their actions. In the end, they are still capable of taking responsibility for their actions but they should not have to take responsibility for the way they were raised, because that was out of their hands.
