There is no time in our lives that we should not be held accountable for our actions. Clear justification can be seen in the novel In Cold Blood. Examples of personal responsibility progress in severity throughout Part 1. First we can see that Mr. Clutter holds all of his employees accountable for their actions in the form of not allowing them to drink alcohol. He will plainly admit that he thinks a life with alcohol is an immoral one, and he will not hire anyone who lives that lifestyle. Another slightly more severe example is when Mr. Clutter holds the pilot who crashed a plane into the orchard on his property accountable for the incident. The pilot crashed the plane, so therefore he or she paid the price, which in this case was in the form of a lawsuit. Lastly, the author presents us with the ultimate example of responsibility: The murder of the Clutter family. Regardless of the upbringing of the perpetrators, multiple murders were committed, and they should be held accountable for this horrid crime.

I wholeheartedly agree with Kevon. Any civilized person who wishes to participate in society must be held fully accountable for any actions they undertake. No flawed upbringing or jaded opinions can raise the burden of responsibility from ones shoulders. The killers are completely responsible for their actions, and will be held deservedly accountable for them. They rationally planned and carried out these vicous attacks for their own personal gain, and the blame lies solely on them.
