As far as the "Nature vs. nurture" debate of essential question 2, I tend to stand more toward the side of nature. Sure, parents, friends, and peers play a great role in your habits, methods of speaking, methods of socializing, and other small oddities. Cultural norms play a role in this too. But, buy and large, our PERSONALITIES are genetic. Psychology has proven that temperament begins from the womb. To me this alone substanciates the role of nature in personality. But there's more. Psychological evidence also shows a genetic link toward emotional tendencies, even depression, need for social contact, and others. Long story short, much of our "uniqueness" in our personalities is genetically derived from our parents.
